I wrote this song at least 13 years ago. My oldest son would be older than this song had he lived. Holiday songs have always been my favorite to sing since I was a child. I've always felt the songs helped created the mood of the holiday and I wanted that for Kwanzaa as well.. I wanted something sweet and inspiring to the spirit of the day. So much more music come about since then. I hope this begins to feel classic for many of you. This is for all of us.
